Frequently Asked Questions

Is this whiteboard really free, with no signup?
Yes. There's no account, no paywall, and no limit on how much you can draw. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
Will I lose my drawing if I close the tab or refresh?
No — your board autosaves to this browser as you work, so closing the tab, refreshing, or an unexpected crash won't lose your progress. It's saved locally to this device only, not to an account, so it won't follow you to a different browser or computer.
How does erasing work — does it delete a whole drawing?
The eraser removes pixels wherever you drag it, just like a real eraser — so you can erase part of a pen stroke without deleting the rest of it. Shapes, text, and images are separate objects: clicking one with the eraser removes that whole object, since partial erasing doesn't apply to a shape's outline the way it does to freehand ink.
How do I move or delete something I've already drawn?
Switch to the Select tool, click a shape to select it, then drag to move it or press Delete/Backspace to remove it. Shift-click to select multiple shapes at once, then Group them so they move together from then on.
How does grouping work?
Select two or more shapes (Shift-click each one), then press the Group button or Ctrl+G. Grouped shapes move together as one unit, and groups can themselves be grouped into nested groups. Ungroup with Ctrl+Shift+G to edit the shapes individually again.
Can I edit text after I've typed it?
Yes — click a text box again with the Text tool, or double-click it with the Select tool, to edit it in place instead of creating a new one on top of it.
Can I import an image onto the board?
Yes — use the image tool to choose a file from your device. It's placed as a movable, resizable object that you can position anywhere, like any other shape.
Is the whiteboard different on mobile?
The toolbar is the same everywhere and wraps to fit smaller screens, so every tool — pen, shapes, text, select, grouping, undo/redo, color, zoom, and export — is available on phones and tablets too, just laid out a bit more compactly.
Can I collaborate with someone else on the same board?
Not currently — this is a single-user whiteboard with no account system, so there's no real-time collaboration or sharing yet. You can export your board as a PNG and share that image instead.
What can I export my whiteboard as?
Currently PNG only. The export captures everything you've drawn — pen strokes, shapes, text, and images — sized to fit it with a small margin, regardless of your current zoom or pan position.
